How to Start Your Business?

This is a 10 part series where we will guide you on all the aspects that you should keep in mind while starting a business.

Part 5:

Now that you have selected your preferred hosting partner, we will move forward to the next step. You now have a domain, hosting and it’s time to build your website. So have you selected your favorite CMS yet?

Well, let’s dive into what Content Management System (CMS) you should select for your business. There are plenty of content management systems available today. To select the one that would be perfect for your business is the key. So let’s have a look at some of the CMS’s that would suit your business.

  1. If you are looking to create an online blog website, it is best to go with either Drupal, WordPress or Joomla. These are the three most popular content management systems that are in use today. WordPress being on top of the list. They are easy to manage, have a lot of functionality and their scope can be increased by using plugins and extensions. (Ghost is great if you are just looking at blogging.)
  2. If you are looking to open a store then you can consider WooCommerce (needs WordPress as a base), Opencart, or Magento. WooCommerce is great if you are starting up or have a limited number of products up to 2500. If you have more products then Opencart would be a good option as it is an E-Commerce specific content management system. Similarly, if you have a bigger store which will have a lot of products, needs a lot of functionality, then Magento is where you should be looking at.
  3. If you are building a website which is just going to show your business on the web, and you are not selling anything online, then a static website should work for you. It is simple, needs a less powerful server but can host only static content. Static means, it won’t be able to have blogs, products, etc, and will have only your business information.

So you now have an idea, that what you should use for your business. If you have any doubts, please feel to leave comments below. We will be happy to answer them for you.
